So here it is, my entry for the Observer/Random House Graphic Short Story Prize, a version of the Folk Song/Story John Barleycorn. The idea was to work with ideas from English folklore, but deal with them in a contemporary way, here with influences from Mervyn Peake, Sergio Leone and Tom Waits.
